    CMA AWARDS GIFT ROOM TO DISTRIBUTE MORE THAN $350,000 IN MERCHANDISE TO PARTICIPATING ARTISTS

    More Than 25 Top Vendors Involved In Artist Gift Room

    NASHVILLE – In what has become one of retailers’ most sought-after ways to get merchandise in the hands of the stars, more than 25 vendors have lined up to participate in the official artist gift room at “The 38th Annual CMA Awards.” In total, more than $300,000 in gifts will be given to artists participating in “The 38th Annual CMA Awards,” which airs live on the CBS Television Network from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn., Tuesday, Nov. 9 (8:00-11:00 PM/EST).

    “The artist gift room has been a highlight of the CMA Awards season for the last four years,” offered Rick Murray, CMA’s Senior Director of Strategic Marketing. “Each year it gets better and better. It is a fun process for CMA’s Marketing Coordinator Angela Everett and the staff to identify products that represent the prestige and cachet of the CMA Awards and that the artists will enjoy. That’s what this really is about: thanking the artists for their work through the year and for their participation in ‘Country Music’s Biggest Night™’.”

    World-renowned Johnathon Arndt Gallery of Jewels (www.johnathonardnt.com) makes its debut in the awards show arena as an official gift bag partner for the 2004 CMA Awards. Johnathon Arndt Gallery of Jewels will provide each artist a limited-edition jeweled case, and the CMA Female Vocalist of the Year winner will be presented with a one-of-a-kind signature masterpiece valued at more than $50,000 in celebration of the monumental moment. Johnathon Arndt Gallery of Jewels will also be jewelling various female artists at “The 38th Annual CMA Awards.”

    SIRIUS Satellite Radio leads the list of additional products featured in the CMA Awards Artist Gift Lounge by offering all participating artists a SIRIUS Satellite Radio system, including both home and vehicle kits and six months of free service. Other items making the gift bags include Girzi Skincare, Kerastase, MAC Cosmetics and Marshy Mint. Norelco is offering its new AccuVac Beard & Mustache Trimmer and has enlisted Curb recording artists and CMA Awards nominee Blue County for some promotional media shoots; Sony’s giving its Hi-MD™ Walkman® Digital Music Player; Cruzan Rum, a sponsor of Kenny Chesney’s top-selling tour, will have an assortment of its products; and Jack Daniel’s has packaged a gift set for the occasion. Also included will be custom-made accessories from Alex and Ani, as well as his and hers watches from Elgin.

    Gourmet foods are always a hit in the gift room, and 2004 is no exception. Red Angel Brownies will offer its delectable treats. Krispy Kreme and Lilyfield and Company are each giving valuable gift certificates. LifeSavers presents its array of CreamSavers candies, and Swap Thoughts is baking cookies fit for Country Music’s biggest stars. And for the celebrity pooch’s palate, The Pawstry Chef will again give its brand of dog biscuits.

    Also up for grabs in the gift room are Scentstories by Febreze; baskets from Pier 1 Imports; artwork by Maggie Lindley Designs; bags, pocketbooks and jeans from western wear outfitter Wrangler®; Michelle DeCourcy one-of-a-kind women’s apparel; SMartHats.com custom-made hats; “The Man Called CASH” books from Rutledge Hill Press; collectibles courtesy of T.G.I. Fridays restaurants; personal training sessions from Takes 2 Fitness; yoga sessions at Sanctuary for Yoga, Body & Spirit; and much more.

    All artists participating in “The 38th Annual CMA Awards” receive gift bags, whether nominated, performing or presenting.

    Brooks & Dunn will perform and host the CMA Awards. Other performers announced to date include Dierks Bentley; Big & Rich; Clint Black; Jimmy Buffett; Kenny Chesney; Terri Clark; Sara Evans; Faith Hill; Alan Jackson with Patty Loveless; Toby Keith; Martina McBride; Reba McEntire; Tim McGraw; Montgomery Gentry; Willie Nelson; Brad Paisley with Alison Krauss; Rascal Flatts; Julie Roberts; George Strait; Josh Turner; Shania Twain with Billy Currington; Keith Urban; and Gretchen Wilson.

    Artists scheduled to present during the show include Trace Adkins, Clint Black and wife Lisa Hartman Black, Pat Green, Buddy Jewell, Lonestar, Joe Nichols, Jamie O’Neal, Dolly Parton, “CSI Miami”’s Emily Procter, LeAnn Rimes, SHeDAISY, Blake Shelton, Randy Travis, Phil Vassar and Darryl Worley.

    The CMA Awards are produced by Walter C. Miller, directed by Paul Miller and scripted by David Wild. MJI Programming, a Division of Premiere Radio Networks, is the official radio packager of the CMA Awards, which includes Red Carpet coverage and a stereo-radio simulcast of the event. American Airlines is the Official Airline of the CMA Awards.
